Urvasee, Take It Easy Policy.

All right! This is why I love pre-exam semi-panic. It has always been that time of the year when I race against time, trying to catch up with everything I have blissfully avoided in class and at home. For example, in addition to having to look for and read the texts, this is usually the time I convince myself I cannot work in a dirty room. Hence I go on a cleaning spree, walking around the room with a photocopied poem in one hand and a duster in the other, muttering about cushion covers and things, earphones playing something suitably chaotic. Multitasking doesn't agree with me, but it's not like I stop trying to make it agreeable. And strangely, there's a tiny part of me that would rather work like crazy these last three days than be diligent throughout the year.

With the kind of overdrive that I usually go into, hidden neuroticism battling stubborn laziness, I need a place to let off some steam, and writing's the only way I know how. I cannot do yoga; inevitably I either yawn or snicker. The world does not want to see me dance. Trust me, it doesn't. Which is why rambling under duress is so fulfilling. I can actually talk about nothing, in a state that can only be described as paranormal - manic glint in my eye, dishevelled hair, the works - and still feel happy about doing something productive. Blame it on all the people around me who have convinced me that spewing out words is better than talking over the phone. Whatever were they thinking.

And here is the beautiful part - as I was writing this, something inside my head was organising things and deciding what comes after what, with the result that I now know exactly what I will do in the next three hours. So what if studying doesn't come in anywhere? Clarity's always nice. Hot bath and dinner and then a movie (see, more take-it-easy unwind material, I should write a self-help book or something) and then the texts.

The title of this post is a song with Prabhu Deva in it. Something tells me the movie has Nagma in it, but I'm not sure. Enlightenment, anyone? Also, I retract. I retract all the mean things I said. I love this blog. See, I'm teary eyed even.

I can't believe I've rambled this much. I'm grinning now. I should go do something depressing to calm down. Maybe I'll cut my nails or something. I know, I'll offer to set the table for dinner. I am such a little martyr. Nauseating, really.

yes, Nagma is in it, actually. Though thankfully, not in the song itself. Very fun song.

Also, very fun blog. :)

i used to start studying at 11 the night before the exam, and get a little more cramming done on the way to school. it was such a thrill, thinking to myself how downright foolhardy i was to even bother going for the exam. and yet, i never missed an exam. i guess folks who can't jump out of a plane or hang suspended from a bungee sow their daredevilry oats through exams.

though i've heard jumping out of a plane is fun too.

Throughout the year, I get notes and poems photocopied as if I cram them every night. I don't manage to do that even on the eve of the exam.

Every novel that I've ever ignored in my life becomes oh-so-appealing just before the exam.
Oh and yes, the dirty room. I clean and clean and clean and then find some random thing which triggers a memory or suchlike and then I am in some other world.
Sigh! Oh exams. :)

Three? More like one.
I've taken the unwinding business to a whole new level, trust me. :D

The post cheered me up lots(which is saying something after the kind of exam I've given). Thankee. And how are yours going?

I feel EXACTLY the same way. Blogging sorta calms me down. Sometimes after I've read a text, I have a lot of random thoughts about it, and I just sit down to write about it and it all just falls into place. Or even to relieve stress, nothing like writing. Ps: I believe if we did a statistical study of frequency of blog posts, we would find all JUDE bloggers writing more during exams.

I came across your blog from Rik's, I think. I was intrigued by the Urvasee reference. Amazing song :)

And yes, it was Nagma. It was either "Love Birds" or "Kadhalan"

You're wrong. There's absolutely no motive behind making cheapass comments on your blog. It's one of those compulsive things you keep hearing about. I just HAVE to do it :D
