Note to Self.

Saltwater smells still cling to your backpack from the time you picked up seashells on the beach and put them in there, knowing that they probably would not survive the journey from one seaside city to another, but what the heck. Little bits of buckles and fabric are coming out, anything that goes in comes out begrimed and brown. There is always loose change in the pockets that shouldn't be housing it, but your wallet is never to be found, and sometimes you think everything will fall off your back and disappear; what is it about old bags, really? There are a hundred voices telling you to change, change now because soon there will be more dirt stains on it and then things will fall apart at the seams, and in the city there are always potholes for belongings to go tumbling into. Change now before you stop caring about it.

I need a new bag, I know. I'm on my way, yes. But I'm not late.

No, I'm not late.

same reason i'm clinging to my old bag. though it looks like a rag and is already falling apart.

but a new bag is like building a new relationship right from the scratch again.
